They wanted to celebrate these everyday acts of bravery that surrounded them – some acts were small and simple, some acts, big and powerful, some acts, a result of hard work and determination, others a result of sheer will and perserverance. Each act – no matter how big or small – was worthy of celebration.

The founding chicks were empowered by the thought of launching a company would that celebrate all women and each of their unique stories; a company that would celebrate any woman, anywhere, who needed a shot in the arm of courage; who just finished her first marathon; just got accepted to a college, or rejected from a college and tried somewhere else — anyone who looked life in the eye, and said, “That’s all you got? Well I’m still here. I’m One Brave Chick.” They decided to give a name to this courage, form a company founded on this courage, and call it “one brave chick”.

Their vision was that one brave chick would become a new way of thinking and living for all women - from birth through the golden years. They believe that all women should see and celebrate themselves as “brave chicks”. They encourage women to be proud of their brave chick attitudes on the good days and indebted to their brave chick attitudes on the tough days. They envision the day when every little girl is the proud owner of a one brave chick in the hope that the “one brave chick” attitude is deeply engrained in this next generation of women. They are hopeful that each and every woman who sees one brave chick for the first time identifies with its mission on a personal level. And finally, they hope that the men who learn about one brave chick can relate to its mission because it has a positive impact on a women in their lives.

Apart, the Founding Brave Chicks are different in their backgrounds, professional experiences and personal stories. Like all women, they each have a unique story to tell. Together, quite simply, they are just three brave chicks, choosing to hold their heads up high and let nothing stand in their way.

The unity of the Founding Brave Chicks was the impetus for the one brave chick company. The idea was hatched in September 2007 and officially launched in April 2008.
