Lisa and Chelsea LaFlamme

On July 3rd Chelsea turned 17 and had a wonderful birthday with her friends.� It was picture perfect and has tons of pictures to prove it, but the very next day her whole life changed. On the 4th of July just going take a friend to her car before they were to go back to the house and hang out by the pool she was hit by a car directly on her door. She had to be life flighted to a hospital in Atlanta and they were not sure if she would make it. Her pelvis was very badly broken, all of her ribs were broken and lungs were very badly damaged, she was bleeding internally and had damage to her brain. The paramedics that worked on her are all in shock she is still alive and now refer to her as Miracle Girl. She has had surgery on her pelvis to piece it back together and was in an induced coma for almost a month. She is now waking up and even though she is still on a vent she is trying to communicate any way she can. This week she will be off the vent and off to rehab. She is one strong girl and has had her family by her side the whole time. Lisa her Mom has been the strongest woman I've ever met. Juggling being at Chelsea's side and her 11 yr old autistic son has been no small feat, but she has made it look easy. To me and many others this is one amazing Mother, daughter team and they deserve to be called "One Brave Chicks".
The picture I have enclosed is of the two of them at a peace day gathering where they both painted faces for the kids and helped made pinwheels.
