Carol Majchrzak Hunt Valley, Maryland So, let me introduce you to the bravest chick I know.  The fabulous woman in pink in the picture:  Carol Majchrzak. She is surrounded by her beautiful children, Elizabeth and Larry and my beautiful children, Holden (her Godson), Isabella and Olivia. I first met Carol because I moved in a few doors down in Hunt Valley, Maryland.  I was immediately drawn to her because she had a contagious laugh, was highly intelligent, had an obvious love of her children and life.  It didn't hurt that she also made a mean batch of brownies!  Carol and I became instant friends.  My husband and I became pregnant that first year we moved in with our first child, Carol was amazing to us.  Our family was far away, but holidays were never lonely because her family, without hesitation, took us in to celebrate every occasion.  Summers were the best..sitting on our front steps, sipping wine, watching our kids play and talking leisurely about life.  It was on a few of those fire-fly filled nights that I came to discover exactly how brave a chick Carol was.   She shared with me how on the day she delivered Elizabeth, her first born, she lost her mother to cancer.  When Larry, her son was four he was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  Carol, a nurse, went into overdrive, fighting for the proper care for her son.  He stands strong, handsome and smart at 13.  What an amazing blessing.  In the time I lived next door to Carol, she buried her mentally challenged brother who died unexpectantly when he accidently choked on food.  Carol is brave, she holds amazing faith in strenuous times.   She carries elegance when others would be, if I can be frank, just losing it!  In the last few years, she blew me away with her strength, when her husband just walked in one July day and asked for a divorce.  The man she stood by without wavering as he struggled with depression, job changes and just basically checking out whenever it pleased him.  Carol used every ounce of strength and bravery to keep the boat steady and as uninterrupted as possible for her children.  Why are some of us handed more lemons than others?  I can't answer that, but I can tell you that Carol Majchrzak has been given the gift to make the best damn lemonade out there.   Through the irrational requests her husband was making with the divorce, the stress he placed on their family, Carol was promoted to Director of Nursing at her place of employment, she maintained relationships and her children continued to be excellent students, but more importantly, kind and generous human beings.  So, I write this in tribute to her.. Carol, you are one brave chick and we love you dearly!  Here's to you!  Annemarie
